Thumbnail toplists

Thumbnail toplists are generated via the normal toplists screen (see the 'Toplists and codes' topic)

Thumbnail cropper

In the toplists screen, click the 'Manage thumbnail crop settings' link to edit the thumbnail cropping settings. In this screen you can either add a thumbnail cropping group with different thumbnail dimensions and cropping parameters, or adminitrate the cropper settings.

The 2 most important settings on this screen are:

Max thumbs per trade

Make sure this value is high enough. For example, if you want to use the thumbnail code: [TOPLIST_THUMB_xxx_9], this value should be at least 9, so the cropper will fetch 9 thumbnails from the trades.

TC2 Client directory

The server uses this path to write the thumbs. It will try to create a 'thumbs' directory inside this directory. Make sure this always points to a valid TC2 directory. Usually this is auto determined, but for custom installations you should manually set this.

Force recropping and troubleshooting

The 'force recropping' link will reset the cropping statusses of trades, so they will be recropped. If you find that thumbs arent being generated, its most probably that the trades havent been flagged to create thumbnails yet.
To set the trades to create thumbs, create the thumbnail toplist and hit generate. This sets the thumbnail creation flags of the trades generated in the toplists.

To sum it up:

- Create a cropping group
- Create a thumbnail toplist
- Hit generate on the toplist
- Hit the 'force recropping' link

Cropping can take a while since it is throttled to protect server performance. Hit the preview button to see the progress of the toplists, and generate it when all the thumbs are available.

Custom thumbs and spider offset

It is possible to specify a custom thumbnail for a trade. This however, overrules all cropping groups. To overrule a thumb, use the 'Custom Thumb URL' field.

If you find that the cropper is picking logo graphics, or other wrong images preceding the actual thumbs, you can use the 'Crop thumbnail offset' field to adjust the picking of the thumbnails manually. If you set this to for example 1, it will skip the first image it finds.
